Access list functions (premium room subscribers only)

The access list feature makes your room 'Members Only.'  Nobody can enter your room unless they are on a special 'Access List'. You may combine the access list feature with the password protection of a locked room for added security.

This new security feature helps you make decisions about who you let join or admin your room.  When you enable this feature only people that you have added to your access list can get into your chat room. You can add users or remove them at any time without the need to close your room and reopen it.

How to turn it on and off:
This feature is available on your chat room creation form.

Near the bottom of your chat room creation form you will find a checkbox labeled 'Restrict access by Nickname'. 

Placing a check in this box will activate your room as a 'members only' room. 

Managing your access list:
You may build a list of users that are allowed in your room by clicking the 'Access List' link that is to the right of the check box.

When you click the 'Access List' link a window will open.

To add a nickname to the list simply enter the name into the 'Nickname' box near the bottom of the window and press the 'Add' button.  When you press the 'Add' button the nickname will be added to your list immediately.

To delete people from your access list simply press the 'Remove' link to the right of their name.

You may add or remove as many users as you like.

When you are done managing your list click the 'close window' link.

You MUST press the 'Modify' button at the bottom of the chat room creation form for your changes to take effect!

WARNING! Be sure to add your own name to your access list or you will not be able to open your own room once you enable this feature!  Contact a co-admin online if you need help.
